İslam tarihi ise Kur’an-ı Kerim’in indirilmeye başlandığı günden itibaren günümüze kadar gelen zaman diliminde Müslüman toplulukların yaşamış olduğu tüm süreçleri inceleyen ilim dalı olarak tanımlanmaktadır.
